Sports

Sports play a crucial role in our student’s development, offering a fun and engaging way to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and discipline. Through sports, our tamariki build strong social skills, learn the importance of collaboration, and develop a sense of responsibility. Regular participation in sports such as triathlon, swimming, rippa rugby, netball, top schools, fun4you, golf, softball, basketball, touch, rugby and much more also boosts self-esteem, improves mental health, and helps our tamariki build resilience, teaching them how to cope with success and failure. In addition to the physical benefits, our sports encourage goal-setting, focus, and perseverance, laying the foundation for success both on the field and in life.

Our commitment to sporting endeavours sees us successful at both our local Eastern Bay of Plenty events and at the National Aims games where we have seen our golfers in particular, claim top spot for the past two years.

As part of our PE programme, all students in Years 3 – 8 receive sports skills lessons on a weekly basis.
